About:
We had 40 Varsity, JV and Modified lacrosse girls ask for donations or pledge a dollar amount per goal in our May 8th home opener. They collected donations over a 3 week span and raised over $3400. The final total still is not in as we are waiting for the money pledged to come in.
The girls wore t-shirts to raise awareness and a QR code was given out to spectators in hopes they would become organ donors.
What has been reported:
Saturday was the Express Girls Lacrosse home opener vs. Owego and their Donate Life game! The team and our Elmira community blew this fundraiser out of the water! On Saturday, the team and community raised more than $3400 to an amazing cause and brought awareness to tissue and organ donation!
On top of that, our LAX Express Girls team left everything on the field in a hard battle and won 9-8.
“Billy Lowe was definitely looking down on us today and we felt his presence,” says Express Girls Lacrosse Coach, Jana Reidy.
Thank you for the support of the community!
