About:
“Under normal circumstances, Stephanie Tubbs and her husband Andy would have no trouble shoveling themselves out of their driveway, but right now, both are battling COVID-19.
According to Stephanie Tubbs, she reached out to the community for help clearing their driveway, and the response was surprising.
“There were several people who said ‘I’ll come over with my kids,’ or ‘my brother has a snowplow.’ I’m sure I can get him to do it; we were just overwhelmed by the support,” Tubbs said.
After the call went out, the Fayetteville Manlius Field Hockey team stepped up and sent several team members to the Tubbs residence to help.
FM Field Hockey Player Lucy Fowler was one of those who showed up and said this is all a part of being a community member.
“We are here to support the FM community. These people are struggling with covid right now, and we thought we’d lend a hand.” Fowler said.
While these young women all said they had a great time doing a good deed, players like Madison Kirkpatrick said today built bonds both in the community and with the team.
“We are all physically capable of doing this, and it’s just a way to help someone in the community and bring our team closer together,” Kirkpatrick said.
Stephanie and her husband Andy have a simple message for the team that helped so much.
“Thank you so much. We are so incredibly grateful. It was an overwhelmingly amazing experience,” Tubbs said.
Lucy Fowler was a 2020 Section III and New York State Field Hockey All-Star.”
