About:
Levy Lakeside Elementary School students recently celebrated Valentine’s Day. To learn more, please refer to the article below, written by Levy Lakeside Elementary School sixth grader Hollyn L.
“The Lakeside Lions have made it a tradition to send Valentine’s Day Cards to veterans. This year one of the members of student council proposed an idea of making Valentines for frontline workers, specifically, doctors and nurses who have worked tirelessly during this pandemic. During these tough times everyone thought it would be a great idea and would help to lift their spirits. Everyone at Lakeside was so excited to help and hopefully put a smile on the face of a frontline worker. Once we found out that we had a direct connection to two hospitals, we were so excited! Cohen’s Children’s Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital we so pleased that we were doing this project and they would be receiving our Valentine’s Day Cards. The Lakeside Lions were so pleased to see all the smiling faces of the ER doctors and nurses after the Valentine’s Day Cards were delivered. Making a difference by showing your appreciation towards someone really made the Lakeside lions ROAR with PRIDE! This project truly showed all of Lakeside Lions that when we come together as a family, we can make a difference even in challenging times.”
