About:
The boys helped me raise funding in two capacities. We donated all profits from our concession stand at our Alzheimer’s Awareness Night. Additionally, my assistant and I donated several gift cards and tickets to raffle during the game. The boys also volunteered and registered for the Alzheimer Disease Resource Center’s (ADRC) annual 5K walk. Moreover, a number of them volunteered to help set-up the walk from 7AM-12:30PM.
There were approximately 12 volunteers between both my junior varsity and varsity team. Roughly 30 players joined us for the walk.
Volunteers 7AM-12:30PM, Participants 10-12:30
I have a personal connection to the ADRC. That being said, quite a few families have now shared with me that they have a relative or loved one who is suffering from dementia, which is the umbrella of diseases that Alzheimer’s is classified under.
