About:
Students at Westhampton Beach High School stirred up kindness among their peers when they participated in P.S. I Love You Day on Feb. 12.
Spearheaded by the school’s Youth to Youth Club, students were encouraged to wear the initiative’s symbolic purple and engage in random acts of kindness. One of those acts was writing letters to residents at the Westhampton Care Center, Peconic Bay Medical Center and Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. They also held a collection drive for toiletries and personal hygiene items to benefit Maureen’s Haven, as well as one for nonperishable foods to donate to local food pantries.
P.S. I Love You Day, now in its 12th year, aims to raise awareness about bullying and suicide while promoting kindness.
