The Massapequa High School girls varsity swim team hosted its annual Swim for a Cure meet on Sept. 28 at Syosset for Pediatric Cancer Month. The Lady Chiefs collected items such as coloring books, crayons and small toys to be donated to the pediatric cancer unit at Cohens Children’s Medical Center. They also held a 50/50 raffle for breast cancer awareness, which will be go toward the Massapequa School District’s Dig Pink initiative.
The swimmers raised more than $400 and a table full of items during their Swim for a Cure endeavor with the help of their opponent and friends from Garden City Swim and Dive team.
